Crochet Baby Blanket With Puff Stitch Border I Afghan Puff Macarons Yoyo Crochet Blanket

Crochet Puff Edge Stitch

CROCHET STITCHES

This sweet little crochet puff edge finishes off a heart project perfectly, don’t you think?

DIRECTIONS

Start this crochet puff edge by pulling up a loop and work an HDC (half double crochet) in that stitch. Skip a stitch, HDC, then, around the post of the HDC, HDC3TOG. Don’t know how? Here’s what you do: yarn over, (YO) pull up a loop, YO again, pull up a loop, YO again, pull up a loop, YO and pull through all loops on your hook. There should be seven.

Still can’t quite imagine it? Check out this little video clip I made! To finish the round, do a puff edge stitch into the first stitch you started with then slip stitch to the top of that HDC and weave in the ends. And in the corners, I worked two or just the one, it really depended on how my stitches lined up. You’ll need to do a row of single crochet before you start your puff edge! Work 3 SC into each corner. If it works that you land in the center stitch, just do one puff, if not, do two! It’s a very forgiving stitch around the corners, so don’t stress too much.

Wavy Shell Stitch Border Edging How to Crochet a Wavy Shell Stitch Border Edging Here’s a nice 3D wavy shell stitch border edging. This crochet pattern works great on the edge of baby blankets, afghans, shawls, scarves, and more. It is created by making several double crochet stitches in a ring on top of a solid double crochet border. These clusters form a 3D wave or ripple effect. The stitches used in this pattern include the chain, double crochet, and slip stitch. You can use any size or weight yarn you wish. For this sample, I’m using a worsted weight yarn and a size G hook. The stitch pattern is a multiple of 4. So you can use any side that has 20 stitches, or 40, 80, 88, 100, etc. If you plan on putting this border around an entire blanket, you will need to add 1 stitch to each of the 4 corners. The how-to tutorial video shows all of these steps. Materials Hook : 3.0mm Yarn : Acyrlic -Very soft and good kind, Knitty 4 Size *You may use any yarn you like Please visit our ...

Please Subscribe, Share and Smash the Bell to keep you updated with the latest video. Crochet Stitches for Making Cozy Blankets 1. Half-Double Crochet Stitch Stitching up your new favorite blanket really can be as simple as working half-double crochet stitches on repeat.  Double crochet  works well too, but be wary of single crochet — your blanket may feel a bit stiff and heavy with that one. Try stripes or color blocks to give this basic stitch a little something extra. 2. Shell Stitch These are great for more than just  edging a blanket  — we’re big fans of using an allover shell pattern to stitch up a quick blanket. Keep it one color for a more subtle, textured look, or get striping for something a little more colorful. 3. V Stitch This classic stitch pattern (which is actually a variation on the shell stitch!) has a very literal na...

Crochet Alpine Stitch Tutorial for Beginners

How to Crochet Alpine Stitch Instructions Rows 1-3: Setting Up Alpine Stitch Start alpine stitch with any even number of stitches.  You can begin with a starting chain of chain stitches, then work the first row, or work the first row as  foundation single crochet stitches . The sample starts with FSC so it lays flat. Row 1:  chain 1, single crochet in every stitch, turn. Tip Turning chains count as a stitch on every row so you should always skip the first stitch of the row. Row 2:  chain 2, double crochet in every stitch, turn. Row 3:  chain 1, single crochet in every stitch, turn. Row 4: Working Front Post Double Crochets Now you can complete the front post double crochet like a standard double crochet stitch. Yarn over and draw up a loop, bring the loop up to the same height as the turning chain. This keeps the stitches all the correct height. Yarn over and draw the hook through two loops, then yarn over and draw through the remaining loops.  That's one f...
